How to Resolve Error Code 0x80240017: Windows Update Failure in Windows 10

  2. Utilise the Windows Update troubleshooter. Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Update troubleshooter. Follow the provided steps to address any detected issues.
  3. Temporarily disable your antivirus software. At times, antivirus programs can interfere with Windows updates. Turn off your antivirus software and try the update once more.
  4. Reset the Windows Update components. Open Command Prompt with administrative privileges and enter the following commands one at a time:
