Resolving Error 0x800F0906 During SQL Server 2017 Setup

Various methods exist to address the error code 0x800F0906 encountered during SQL Server 2017 installation:

  1. Ensure .NET Framework 3.5 Installation: This issue may arise if .NET Framework 3.5 is absent on your device. Navigate to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off, select .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), and confirm with OK.
