Your Windows Server 2022 from Standard to Datacenter

Notice: This pathway is exclusively for upgrading from Windows Server Standard edition to the Windows Server Datacenter edition. Reversing this modification is not supported.
Reminder: All your system data, applications, and configurations will be preserved during the transition. However, creating a backup is recommended to mitigate any risks due to potential disruptions.

Implement these directions:

  1. Open the search area on the taskbar, type CMD. Launch the Command Prompt by right-clicking and selecting Run as administrator.
  2. Key in the following directive at the command line: dism /online /set-edition:serverdatacenter /productkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /accepteula. Swap the Xs with your legitimate product key and hit Enter.
  3. After the upgrade finalizes, initiate a server reboot. Your server, now running Windows Server 2022 Datacenter, will be primed for use.
